Many peoples’ “first 4000-footer”, Mt Pierce is accessible from AMC’s Highland Center on a wide, well-used single trail ascending above the tree line. The southernmost Presidential, on a clear day you get sweeping views back toward Mount Eisenhower and Washington, as well as a straight shot to the west if you’re ever up on the ridge for sunset.

Pierce is a great introduction to the quest to hike all 48 of New Hampshire’s 4,000-footers!
